Obesity in infants

Child obesity could be detected when the baby turns nine months, according to results of a U.S. study.

Scientists, in fact, believe that in this age babies are overweight or obese, at risk to those able to stay up to two years of age.

According to the study authors, who found that a third of Americans are obese, small, or are overweight, discovering these problems, but the ninth month of life, could prevent the risk of obesity during childhood.

To reach this conclusion, the authors of the study published in the "American Journal of Health Promotion" (American Journal of Health Promotion) was carried out by measuring body weight 8900 babies aged between nine months and then by 7500 the weight of them, filled with two years of life.

The result showed that 44 percent of obese children at an early age to rest in the second year of life, carried the French media.

Experts recommend that parents give their very young children more fruits and vegetables, without the introduction of a child.

The research, among others, has shown that social status can affect the body weight of children. It was found, among other things, that 40 percent of children two years from poor backgrounds obese or at risk of obesity in this age, while among those from richer families is present in 27 percent of cases.
