Pregnancy after the 35

The incidence of pregnancy among women in their twenties is decreasing, but so has doubled in those aged over 35 years. Although still a small number of women who give birth in their 40s, but in recent years their number has doubled.

If you are over 35 years, then certainly you know that and that nothing in life is not entirely without risk.Although the risks are still declining, they are growing with age. The greatest reproductive risk for women over 35 years is the ability to do and not get pregnant because of reduced fertility. If you overcome it and become pregnant, are more likely to parent a child with Down syndrome.

The frequency syndrome increases with maternal age:
The 20-year-olds at 10 000 babies is born to one with Down syndrome, in the mid 30's to the 1000 babies born three such babies, and their 40-1 to 100

It is believed that this and other chromosomal disorders, occur more frequently in older women, because they and their eggs earlier (every woman is born with a lifetime supply of eggs). 25% of cases of Down syndrome are due to disturbances in the father's sperm. So far, the Down syndrome can not be prevented but it is possible to diagnose during pregnancy.

There are a number of other risks that increase with age over 40-trudnice. Pregnant woman  and often gets high blood pressure, diabetes or cardiovascular disease. For older pregnant women frequent the occurrence of spontaneous abortion (the older egg cells), preeclampsia, preterm deliveries. Delivery, on average, lasts longer, is harder, tends to be complicated by the frequent use of cesarean section and other supplies during the birth.

Despite the slightly increased risk, there are many things which still favors mothers over 35 years. It is for these mothers seem much more than in the past. Detection of congenital anomalies is still possible in pregnancy due to the numerous tests and diagnostic tests, which means that it is possible to reduce the risk that the future mother, who has over 35 years to carry a child with serious congenital anomalies. Occasionally problems occur more often in older mothers, can be well controlled. Using medication and careful medical care can prevent premature labor.
